The Best-Laid Dinner Plans...

In my family, I'm both the "food guy" and the "ADHD guy". I’m responsible for planning and preparing meals for everyone. But there’s a problem—I often forget to plan our meals or get caught up in the overwhelming pursuit of crafting the perfect dinner plan.

My wife suggested creating a standing weekly list to streamline the process and eliminate constant planning. At first, the idea filled me with dread; I worried it would turn our meals into a monotonous routine. Then, inspiration struck—I could turn my wife’s idea into a game! And so, Summoned to Feast at the Tables of Turmoil (SFTT) was born.

Multiple Systems Supported

“Taste is like the butt. Divided.”
- Traditional Swedish saying

Everyone has different tastes, which is why this game offers three unique flavors. Whether you're a fan of dice pools, d20 systems, or deck builders, there’s something here to suit your taste. Each system can be played solo by the DM or enjoyed in multiplayer mode, with the DM acting as a facilitator.

Dice Soup

Dice Soup is the default system for SFTT. It features a table for each day of the week and a pool of seven d6 dice to determine your dinner plan.

This system allows for themed days and greater variety but requires slightly more DM prep.

Dine20 System

The Dine20 System is ideal for those familiar with the most popular tabletop RPG in the world and who prefer sticking to familiar mechanics. It features staples such as fumbles, critical hits, and advantage.

This system requires minimal DM prep but offers less variation in meal plans. It’s perfect for quick, low-level dinner planning.

Menu Cards - Coming Soon

Menu Cards is a competitive deck-building system where all players share the same deck. Modify your diet by customizing your deck, bringing in new cards from your side table, exiling meals, or countering your opponents’ meals as they’re played.

This system shines in multiplayer mode but can also be played as a solitair.

Print and Play

The game’s monochrome blue design is printer-friendly and works on most black-and-white printers. It features 6mm margins to accommodate standard printers and is designed for A4 paper.

The dice-based systems fit on a single A4 sheet, printed front and back. However, the card game system will require additional paper and cutting.

Future Developments

The initial version of SFTT was quickly prototyped and iterated upon to get to version one. Looking ahead, I plan to continue development, though progress will be slower as I shift focus to other projects. Here are the upcoming features, prioritized:

  1. Editable PDFs: Editable versions of the game will allow you to save your menu tables digitally—perfect for people like me who frequently misplace physical copies!
  2. More Page Formats: Currently formatted for A4, additional options for non-EU paper sizes will be added. Let me know if you need a specific format.
  3. More Languages: Spanish and Swedish translations are in progress. If you'd like to assist with translations into other languages, let’s connect.
  4. Vanilla Version: A simplified version for those not drawn to RPG aesthetics or deck-building mechanics. This version will use six-sided dice and/or cards, with a more casual, less gamey feel.
  5. Web App: A digital version of the Dice Soup system featuring menu printing and other convenient tools. This will be web-based but may also be packaged as native apps.

I welcome your feedback—if you have suggestions for edits, improvements, or new features, don’t hesitate to leave a comment!
